Shaaz Peerani joined First Coast News in November 2023 as a Weekend Sports Anchor and Reporter.

Prior to joining FCN, Shaaz served as a one-man sports department at 41NBC/WMGT in Macon, GA. During his time there, he was named 2023 Best Sports Anchor for Small Market TV by the Georgia Association of Broadcasters.

Before beginning his sports journalism career in Macon, Shaaz earned his Master’s in Sports Media from Medill School of Journalism at Northwestern University. He was also a part of the Men’s Tennis Team at Troy University while earning his Bachelor’s degree in Broadcast Journalism.

Shaaz’s also attended Anupam Kher’s Actor Prepares Academy in Mumbai, India for three months, earning a diploma in acting.

In his free time, you can always catch Shaaz on a tennis, pickleball, or basketball court.

Peachtree City, GA – the land of golf carts – is home for Shaaz, and unfortunately with Georgia being home, he is stuck loving teams with some of the worst luck, like the Atlanta Falcons.
