Hailing from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, Jasmine's journey in journalism began at a young age, as her curiosity and passion for storytelling emerged during her high school years at Penn Hills High School.
Her commitment to her craft led her to Clarion University, where she pursued a degree in broadcast journalism. During her time at the university, Jasmine gained valuable experience reporting on local news stories at the campus TV and radio station, honing her skills for what would become a remarkable career.
After earning her bachelor's degree in mass communications, Jasmine embarked on a path that would take her to various prominent news outlets. Recently, she made a significant impact during her time at ABC news affiliate WTXL in Tallahassee, Florida, where she served as a morning show anchor, connecting with viewers and delivering news that mattered to the capital city.
Jasmine's dedication to her work has taken her to different corners of the country, from Washington, D.C., where she interned at BET Networks, to Pittsburgh, where she contributed to KDKA Radio's "Inside Story" with Marty Griffin.
Her career highlights include her time at WFMJ in Youngstown, Ohio, where she covered a wide range of stories, from significant university events to impactful charitable initiatives. Notably, Jasmine was part of the team behind "Project Feed Our Valley," which received a 2015 Regional Emmy Award, raising substantial funds and food for families in need in the Mahoning Valley.
Jasmine's journey continued to flourish at WKYC in Cleveland, Ohio, where she earned three additional Emmy Awards. Her coverage extended to major events like the RNC, World Series, NBA Finals, NFL Draft, NBA All-Star weekend, The Lebron James Family Foundation and her reporting on critical news stories like the “Dayton Mass Shooting” received widespread recognition.
Beyond her professional achievements, Jasmine is a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc., the National Association of Black Journalists, and the Pittsburgh Black Media Federation.
When she's not delivering the news or working on stories that impact her community, Jasmine enjoys quality time with family, basking in the sun on the beach, taking pictures, and keeping up on social media with her vibrant fusion of #newsandshoes.
