A 26-year-old woman has been arrested in Tuesday’s shooting death of another woman at a University Boulevard Super 8 motel.
The Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office announced the charges Wednesday against Amber Lynn Camarillo in the death of 32-year-old Raquel Lee Wallace.
Investigators said Wallace was shot outside a room at the motel about 3 a.m. at 5018 University Blvd. W. She then stumbled into the room where she died. Investigators reviewing surveillance video and canvassed the motel for witnesses.
According to the police report Raquel was using the suspect's blue Honda Civic and refused to return the vehicle. Police say just before the shooting happened, Camarillo contacted Wallace and was told to bring her money in exchange for the car.
Right before her arrest, Camarillo said "I know why you're here and I didn't mean to shoot her."
