JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - The Jaguars picked up 2018 contract options for tight end Marcedes Lewis, offensive tackle Josh Wells and offensive guard Tyler Shatley, the team confirmed to First Coast News on Tuesday.
Lewis was the biggest decision to make of the three. He is scheduled to make $3.75 million this season, according to industry website, Spotrac.com.
Lewis is the longest-tenured player on the Jaguars' roster. Jacksonville selected Lewis with a first-round pick in the 2006 NFL Draft.
Lewis produced 24 catches for 318 receiving yards and five touchdowns this past season. He is set to turn 34 in May.
The Jaguars also have James O'Shaughnessy and David Grinnage under contract at tight end. Ben Koyack is expected to return but is currently an exclusive rights free agent.
Even with three players under contract, the Jaguars may still look to add talent to the tight end position in free agency and the draft.
Wells, 27, and Shatley, 26, both served in depth roles last season. The two top backup offensive linemen received plenty of playing time, as both started four games due to injuries.
Both linemen will return to compete for depth spots this offseason.
