JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - The Jaguars are expected to have a new name on the marquee of their stadium this season.
An EverBank spokesperson told First Coast News that the company is seeking to change the name of the stadium to TIAA Bank Field. The expectation is the name change will be made by the upcoming Jaguars preseason.
In order to move forward with the name change, approval will need to be granted by the Jaguars and the City of Jacksonville. EverBank expects the name change to be approved without any challenges, the spokesperson said.
TIAA Bank acquired EverBank last year after reaching an agreement in August of 2016.
“We’re excited for our relationship with EverBank to not only continue, but grow under the new name of TIAA Bank," Jaguars president Mark Lamping said in a team-issued statement.
"They have been a fantastic corporate partner for many years, sharing our mutual commitment to the betterment of the First Coast community. We’re grateful for their long-term commitment to the Jaguars and to the city of Jacksonville.”
