“Snowball would still be here if neighbors were responsible for their dogs”
Jacksonville, Fla.- Hillcrest residents are concerned for neighborhood cats after recent dog attacks.
Tuesday afternoon a woman said she saw a large, brown and white dog, grab her neighbor’s cat by the neck.
“I’m on an oxygen tank so I couldn’t get across the street fast enough to stop him and by the time I got over there to check on Snowball, he was already dead,” she said.
Over the past few months, residents said several cats have been killed by loose dogs and have reported those incidents to the city.
“We need people to either keep an eye on their pets, make sure they stay in the yard or keep them in the house,” she said. “Dogs can either get hit by a car or attack an innocent cat or worse, a human.”
Neighbors said they don’t know if the dog responsible for Snowball’s death is responsible for other attacks on cats.
