A water main break caused some problems in downtown Jacksonville Sunday evening, but JEA is working to fix the issue.
JEA spokeswoman Gerri Boyce said a 16-inch water main broke sometime Sunday and it’s currently unknown when the break will be completely fixed. A cause is also currently unknown, she said.
A valve truck and crew are working to fix the issue, Boyce said.
The break occurred at Pearl and Adams street, causing water to cut off at the Florida Theatre and the Times-Union Center for the Performing Arts. Boyce said water was restored to both venues, but the Florida Theatre confirmed via its website that the scheduled performance for Sunday had been postponed until Monday night at 7 p.m.
“The Lion King” performance slated for Sunday will run as scheduled, the Times-Union Center confirmed.
