ST. JOHNS COUNTY, Fla. — Emergency crews in St. Johns County are working to contain a brush fire near I-95 and State Road 207.
The fire burned close to several homes in the area, but fire rescue tells First Coast News that none of the homes are in danger.
The fire has reportedly burned at least 35 acres of land, but is already 95% contained, according to officials.
A helicopter from the Flagler County Fire Department is assisting in dropping water on the fire.
Officials say the biggest concern to public safety right now is the smoke that may settle over I-95 overnight, causing possible visibility issues.
First Coast News Storm Experts say the Northeast Florida fire season tends to run from spring to early summer.
