DELAND, Fla. — Three people died Sunday when a small plane crashed and caught fire in DeLand, Fla., according to the Volusia County Sheriff's Office.
The plane, a Cessna 421, crashed into a wooded area off State Road 44 and Grand Avenue at around 4 p.m., the sheriff's office said.
Afterward, first responders found three people with no pulse.
Federal Aviation Administration and the National Transportation Safety Board were notified of the crash, according to the sheriff's office. Traffic on SR-44 was shut down between Grand Avenue and Old New York Avenue.
The names and ages of the victims have not been released.
The cause of the crash has not been disclosed.
