A proposed amendment to the Florida Constitution banning greyhound racing moved forward in a Tuesday evening vote.
The Constitution Revision Committee voted 18-14 to send Proposal 67 to the Style and Drafting committee to select final wording that voters would see on a potential ballot.
Once the wording is finalized, 22 of the 37 CRC panel are required on the amendment in order for it to appear on the November 2018 ballot.
The amendment would phase out the sport of dog racing in Florida gradually until 2020.
